City University of Zhengzhou (abbreviated as City College) is a full-time higher vocational college approved by the People’s Government of Henan Province and filed with the Ministry of Education, located in Zhengzhou, a national central city. Centering on industrial development to set up majors, the university closely connects with Henan’s "7+28+N" industrial chain clusters and builds four featured major groups. It now comprises 8 secondary schools offering 41 majors and orientations, including 15 provincial-level backbone, demonstration and featured majors. It is the only higher vocational college in China offering refractory materials-related majors and ranks among the Top 30 Higher Vocational Colleges nationwide.
Reinforcing Connotation Construction, Majors Keeping Pace with the Times
Closely aligned with key industries outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan of Henan Province, the university optimizes its major layout and has established 15 provincial-level backbone, demonstration and featured majors. Targeting Henan’s "7+28+N" industrial chain clusters, it develops four featured major groups: Intelligent Manufacturing and New Energy Vehicles, Digital Intelligence Technology and Low-Altitude Economy, Digital Intelligence Cultural Tourism, and New Materials.
The university takes the lead in establishing the National Industry-Education Integration Community for Refractory Materials and the National Industry-Education Integration Community for AI & Digital Creativity. It unites more than 70 institutions of higher learning, 8 industrial associations, 3 research institutes and nearly 200 enterprises to form a new pattern of collaborative talent cultivation involving government, industry, enterprises and schools.
Exclusive National Resource, Cutting-edge Scarce Majors
As the only higher vocational college nationwide that provides refractory materials majors, the university has invited Professor Ye Guotian, Second-Class Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Zhengzhou University and a well-known expert in the refractory materials industry, to serve as the first dean of the relevant school. It collaborates with local governments to build modern refractory material experimental and training labs integrating teaching, scientific research and testing, dedicated to cultivating engineers and senior management talents for refractory material enterprises.
The university maintains in-depth cooperation with Lier Group, China’s largest refractory materials enterprise. Special scholarships are set up, and outstanding students are prioritized for recruitment and targeted training.
