About the university
Beijing Health Vocational College is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in —, mainly cultivating higher-level health vocational and technical talents at the specialist level. It is now affiliated to the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and its educational operations are guided by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The college was formed by the merger of the former Beijing Health School, the former Beijing Nurses School, and the former Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine School, with its educational history dating back to the 1920s (—). The college currently has 28 internal institutions, among which the teaching units consist of four departments and three divisions, namely the Department of Nursing, the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Medical Technology, the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Department of Cultural Foundations, the Department of Ideological and Political Education, and the Department of Basic Medicine. The college has 13 clinical teaching hospitals, including Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Beijing Children's Hospital, Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Beijing Chest Hospital, Beijing Geriatric Hospital, Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, and the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics, as well as 2 teaching bases (Beijing Tongzhou District Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital and Beijing Tongzhou District Maternal and Child Health Hospital) and 20 internship bases. Meanwhile, it has carried out school-enterprise cooperation with nearly 100 medical and health institutions, pharmaceutical enterprises, and research institutions at all levels in Beijing, forming a "talent training model of close cooperation, co-cultivation and sharing with three-stage integration of colleges and hospitals", which fundamentally ensures the quality of education and teaching. The college currently has — registered students and 601 faculty and staff members. At present, the college operates with "one college, three campuses". The first campus is located at No. 12 Dado Road, Xiapodian Village, Douzhan Town, Fangshan District (renting the campus of Beijing Network Vocational College), the second campus is at No. 24 West Yudaihe Street, Tongzhou District, and the third campus is at No. 128 East Jiukeshu Road, Tongzhou District (the legal registration address). The college currently offers 13 majors. 8 majors, including Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Quality and Safety, Pharmaceutical Preparation Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Health Information Management, Stomatological Technology, and Oral Health Care, are offered at the first campus; 2 majors, Nursing and Midwifery, are at the second campus; and 3 majors, Traditional Chinese Pharmacy, Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology, and Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, are at the third campus. The Nursing major and the Pharmacy major are among the first batch of demonstration majors in the health service category of national vocational colleges and key majors in the Innovation and Development Action Plan of the Ministry of Education. The Pharmacy and Nursing majors are municipal-level high-level characteristic key majors. The Pharmacy major passed the acceptance of the second batch of municipal-level high-level characteristic key major projects with excellent grades and passed the teaching quality management monitoring and evaluation of Beijing vocational colleges with an "A+" grade. The Traditional Chinese Pharmacy major was selected into the construction project of municipal-level high-level characteristic key majors of Beijing vocational colleges. The Medical Laboratory Technology major and the Medical Imaging Technology major were selected into the innovation team construction project of Beijing vocational colleges.
