Tianjin Normal University was founded in —, formerly known as Tianjin Normal University. The history of normal education inherited by the university can be traced back to the Beiyang normal school established in —, Tianjin Industrial and Commercial University established in — and Tianjin Municipal normal school established in —. It was renamed Tianjin Normal University in —. In April —, the former Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin Normal College and Tianjin pedagogy The college merged to form a new Tianjin Normal University.
