About the university
Tianjin Conservatory of music is a full-time ordinary university organized by Tianjin municipal government and managed by Tianjin Education Commission. It is the construction unit of off campus innovation practice base for graduate education in Tianjin colleges and universities, and the first batch of master's degree awarding units approved by the State Council.
The school was founded in —, formerly the Central Conservatory of music founded in Tianjin in —. In July —, the Central Conservatory of music (the part staying in Tianjin) merged the Music Department of the former Hebei art Normal University into the normal department, and the new Tianjin Conservatory of music was established. In —, it was renamed Tianjin Academy of art. In —, with the approval of the State Council, Tianjin Conservatory of music was restored. In —, with the approval of the State Council, it became the first batch of master awarding units in China.
As of December —, the university is divided into two campuses in the South and North, covering an area of 148.71 mu (—.15 square meters), and the value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 122.44 million yuan; It has 13 teaching departments, 11 undergraduate majors, 3 first-class discipline master's degree authorization points and 1 professional master's degree authorization point; There are 263 in-service full-time teachers and — full-time students.
