Hubei is the hometown of famous medical scientist Li Shizhen. Founded in —, Hubei University Of Chinese Medicine is the only higher undergraduate college of Chinese medicine in Hubei Province. Its predecessor was the Hubei Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School established in —. In —, the former Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine merged with the former Hubei College of Drug Inspection to form the new Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which was renamed Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in March —. The school is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in my country to provide undergraduate education in traditional Chinese medicine and postgraduate education in traditional Chinese medicine. It is an excellent school for undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
