Guangdong University of Education is a general undergraduate university in Guangdong Province. Its predecessor was Guangdong Education Administration university founded in —, and its name was changed to Guangdong Education university in —. In the same year, Guangdong Industrial and Agricultural Normal university was merged into it. In —, it was identified as a provincial adult normal undergraduate university, and began to offer adult normal undergraduate education in the same year, general junior university education in —, and general undergraduate education from — to —. In —, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was restructured into an ordinary undergraduate university and renamed Guangdong No. 2 Teachers university. In —, it obtained the right to grant bachelor's degree, passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in —, was approved as a master's degree project construction unit in —, and was selected as the second batch of pilot universities of the Ministry of Education to promote the construction of teachers in the same year.
