About the university
Weifang Engineering Vocational College is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the people's Government of Shandong Province and filed with the Ministry of education. It is a national pilot college for directional training of directly recruited non commissioned officers, a famous school with special characteristics for skilled personnel training in Shandong Province, and a construction project of high-quality higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province.
The college originated from Peizhen college founded by the British Christian Church in —. In —, it was transformed from Shandong Yidu normal school into Changwei teacher training college. In —, it was renamed Weifang Institute of education. In —, it was approved to be the first college to hold higher vocational education in Shandong Province. In —, it was approved by the provincial government to be transformed into Weifang Engineering Vocational College.
